Leader of the Nebula Court, Rowan is the last male Fae in over 700 years

Personality

Rowan is a lighthearted man, he is goofy and quirky outside of work. Inside of work he wants to make sure all the Faes are taken care of properly. He believes that the Faes are often misrepresented and wants to change that.

History

Rowan was born to Serena and Harrison Sterling on a cold December morning. It had been years since the couple could conceive despite trying everything they could, working with Witches, other Seelie Fae's or seeking help from the humans no one could help them. They were surprised when Rowan was born as male Fae's were not common. Most of the Fae woman had to seek out companionship through humans to produce offsprings of their own. Word got around about Rowan's birth and it stayed with him until he was old enough to attend school. He and one other male fae named Jeremiah instantly became friends. 

Rowan and Jeremiah were as thick as thieves, causing small mayhem towards their fellow schoolmates. Rowan loved Jeremiah as a friend and even considered him a brother. As the boys aged their mayhem shifted more towards each other compared to the fae women. They would always try to out prank each other. But silly games soon came to an end when the Eclipse war broke out. 

Every single Fae had turned on one another. It was one court versus another. Light versus dark. Seelie verses unseelie. It was every Fae for themselves. 

Rowan and Jeremiah fought in the war, Rowan was more of the strategist while Jeremiah carried out more of the action but Rowan was determined to keep them and as many Faes alive as possible. He started recruiting Faes to stop fighting, to end the ridiculous war that seemed never ending. Some Faes stayed with Rowan seeing the war was pointless, others dismissed him as a child. Deciding to take matter into his own hands he grabbed his best friend Jeremiah and headed towards the Fae Queen Adelina.

Queen Adelina had been ruling for almost nine hundred years in Valtheris. She was beloved by all the Faes, even Rowan admired her for more than just her beauty. It was chaos upon entering the castle of the Queen, guards were holding off as many Faes as they could, it was almost to easy for Rowan and Jeremiah to sneak through to speak with her Majesty. They searched high and low for the Queen but when they found her both the males were shocked at what they saw.

Queen Adelina was holding what looked like a star but it was so tiny and broken that if the illuminence of the bright light did not glow before them, they probably would have thought of it as a broken glass shard. "Your Majesty?" Rowan's brows furrowed "Is that..?" Rowan didn't get to finish speaking before the Queen launched herself to attack the boys. Shoving Rowan out of the way, Jeremiah sacrificed himself to be stabbed through the heart with the broken star shard. Rowan cried out for his best friend but his cries fell on deaf ears. The Queen set her sights on Rowan once more, but Rowan was ready this time. Using his strength, he grabbed the shard from the Adelina and stabbed her through the heart whispering, "You traitor." before the Queen fell to the ground dead. 

Pulling the Shard out of her corpse Rowan wished the shard away, someplace he would never find it. The star disappeared in the blink of an eye as if it was never there to begin with. He could hear the guards yelling coming closer and closer probably to check on the traitorous Queen. With a painful last glance at his friend he threw himself out of the window and hovered down safely until he was on the ground and ran. Once he was far enough from the Castle, he flew home to mourn his friend.

As the war drew to close now that the Queen had died the Faes began to pick up the pieces of the war, but without a ruler they seemed lost. Stepping up Rowan decided to nominate himself, sharing the tale of him and his best friends' bravery through the war how he wanted to end it and even recruited many to help him. Seeing the leadership in Rowan the Faes agreed to make Rowan King.
