It is said that the bright hue of the Strawberry Moon would shine its light upon the Vampire that is most worthy to expand the coven and its survival. No one knows the origin of how the Strawberry Moon got the powers to give to the Vampires, the Strawberry Moon is a special phenomenon that should be celebrated when it occurs.

“Is everything ready for tonight?” Rayne asked one of her coven members who insisted on helping prepare for the event that would be happening in her home. It was her turn to host the ball that was so special to her species. Lucky her. All the different members of the different covens would be under her roof for this one night. It was hard enough to find peace among them on a regular day but something about the Strawberry Moon makes the different covens seem more…cohabitant with another.

“It is ma’am.” The short blonde vampire spoke in reply. Rayne nodded her head and went to have a final look for herself. The grand “ballroom” was nothing more than an enlarged space thanks to knocking down the kitchen walls, removing all the cabinetries, appliances and everything else that they no longer needed and combining the already large dining room that was once in the home. It was large enough for dancing and mingling and still have space from one another. The dome sphere that loomed above her head was made out of glass so that the night sky could filter in the room without interference. It was going to be a beautiful night.

She noticed the crystal classes by the front of the doors that would be filled with blood by the waiters, she even had a selected choice for the vampires who don’t drink human blood. The positions of the paid musical players such as the violins, pianos, harp, and flute players has all been assigned. She was aiming for a more classical evening. With everything in place she nodded her head in approval before making her way up the stairs to prepare for the night. With the party to no longer worry about her mind drifted to a vampire she was conflicted with, wondering if he would show up. She decided to still dress her bess even if he wouldn’t show.

The dress she had picked out for the event had been hanging in her closet for days  in a dry cleaning  bag. The baby blue garment flowed to the floor covering her already short frame, making her seem even smaller. The strapless dress showed the top of her breast but it seemed as if the tiny ribbon in the center held her garment in place. The off the shoulder sleeves wrapped around her beautifully so that it could possibly be mistaken for a shawl instead of being attached to the dress.

She accompanied the outfit with a bracelet on one arm and a ring on the other hand. She decided to keep her hair loose but to add in pearl clippings to hold back the front parts of her hair so they would not cover her face when speaking or moving. She added in long pearl earrings as well.  The back of the dress had a ribbon tied into a giant bow that made a small train behind her. She almost looked like a bride. Pairing off her attire with a pair of matching blue heels she was reading to head back down the stairs to welcome her arriving guests.

“It’s going to be a beautiful night.” She mentioned once she reached the bottom of the steps moments before the knocking of her door signaling her first party guest.
